來台二十位外籍專技人員的個人經歷及對台印象

摘要

當各國多在爭取外籍專技人員之際，爲了解我國吸引的外籍專技人員有何特質，以及他們對台灣的看法，本文訪談正在或曾在南部科學工業園區中的台南園區工作之20位外籍專技人員，探討他們的個人經歷，以及他們對台灣的工作和生活環境的印象。主要發現包括：受訪者多有豐富的跨國就業經驗；他們來台就業之主因是公司指派，搭配因素是薪水較爲優渥。受訪者對台灣環境的良好印象包括有些工作環境具全球的水準、人民素質高、人民友善親切、美食多元、日式文化存在、可學習中文和文化、重視自由人權等。而來台在製造業或營造業工作，以及短期停留與否，會影響外籍專技人員對台灣環境的印象。

In order to help countries attract foreign professionals, it is important to understand which foreign professionals are attracted to working in Taiwan and their impressions of living and working there. Therefore, for this article, twenty foreign professionals who are or had been working in the Southern Taiwan Science-Based Industrial Park in Tainan were interviewed to explore their personal feelings and impression of the working and living environment in Taiwan. The major findings include: Most interviewees have found working overseas to be an enriching experience. They came to work in Taiwan primarily because they were assigned to by their companies, with the prospect of a higher salary being as an auxiliary factor. Their positive impressions of Taiwan include a globally competitive working environment, friendly people, delicious food, a familiar culture (for people from Japan), a good place to learn Chinese and a place where freedom and human rights are respected. Impressions may be different for professionals depending on their industry and whether their stay is short term or long term.
