Some volumes of Buddhist manuscripts from the Middle Ages were excavated in Tun-huang(敦煌).Japanese scholars thought they were forgeries which were compiled into Ta Cheng Tsang(《大正藏》)Volume 85. Though forged, those manuscripts involve the Chinese moral values. My thesis focuses on the various forms of salvation presented in these forged manuscripts, comparing the essence of salvation in them with that of original Buddhism and Christianity. My research has been done on the basis of the theory presented in The Sociology of Religion by Max weber(A.D.1864~1920).
