教育部公布之高中地理88課綱首次將地理資訊系統(GIS)納入教材,95暫綱進一步將GIS課程從高三選修變成高一必修。高中地理納入GIS課程已超過十年,多數教師對於GIS課程卻仍缺乏信心或感到困擾,也很少使用GIS來製作教材或輔助教學。本研究主要探討高中地理資訊教學的現況與限制因素,參考其他國家在GIS教學上的經驗與調查結果,據以編製完成「高中GIS教學狀況」問卷,採用問卷調查法進行研究。 所得資料經過統計分析,獲得研究結果包括如下數點。受訪教師地理資訊教學課程實施方式,以在普通教室利用PPT結合配合單槍投影機展示為主,未另外教授軟體操作。受訪教師GIS操作能力自我評估多為能製作主題地圖、但無法運用GIS的分析功能;修過GIS課程的教師自我評估分數較高;年資愈高,自我評估分數愈低。高中地理資訊教學限制因素包括:硬體、軟體、時間、學生因素、教育訓練等。授課時數不是受訪教師認為最感困擾的項目。對於地理資訊在高中教學的價值與意義,受訪教師普遍表示認同。
The national geography curriculum guideline for senior high school of Taiwan incorporated subjects of geographic information (GIS) in 1999. In the 2006 curriculum guideline, GIS subject was moved from 12th grade to 10th grade and became compulsory to all senior high school students in Taiwan. Although GIS has been integrated to curriculum guideline for more than 10 years, yet many teachers still feel it difficult for teaching. This study explores the status of GIS teaching in senior high schools and its constraints. Besides of literature review and comparison with other countries, a questionnaire survey for high schools teachers was taken. The results of this study follow. GIS subjects are mainly taught in regular classrooms using PowerPoint slides and projector with emphasis on concepts and theories. The operation of GIS software is seldom covered. Most teachers are able to make maps using GIS software, but unable to perform spatial analysis. Those teachers with GIS training feel more competent in teaching GIS, compared to those without. Besides, senior teachers in general feel themselves incompetent compared to younger ones. Constraints of GIS teaching in high school include shortage of hardware, software, course hours, student factors, education training. Shortage of course hours is the main constraint to most teachers. Regarding the value and implication of integrating GIS in senior high schools curriculum, most teachers are positive in this new trend.
