在1990年代的台灣各地社區中,社區營造運動正值方興未艾之際,已經有越來越多位處鄉村地區的基督教會涉入社區範疇的改善,而不只是扮演個人處境改善的角色。 本研究根據社區參與和夥伴關係的觀點,選定南庄基督長老教會作為個案研究的對象,期待描述南庄基督長老教會推動單向式社區服務事工的經驗,了解南庄基督長老教會社區服務事工轉型的狀況,並且在南庄基督長老教會參與的社區相關工作中,探討教會與鄉村社區組織的夥伴關係。 本研究發現南庄基督長老教會大約僅有一開始四、五年的木笛班事工純粹屬於單向式的服務提供,過程中南庄基督長老教會與社區家長的互動愈趨頻繁,進而開始合作,這也意味南庄基督長老教會社區服務轉型的開始,教會不只扮演服務提供者的角色,也開始成為社區居民或組織的夥伴。尤其,南庄基督長老教會與社區家長的夥伴關係成為建立南庄基督長老教會與南庄鄉愛鄉協進會之夥伴關係的基礎,此一夥伴關係至今已經產生顯著的互利結果,包括在社區的發展上,以及在兩個組織的存續與發展上。
In the 1990s, the Community Renaissance Movement was practiced by local people in Taiwan. In the meanwhile, more and more Christian faith communities (congregations) had already played another role in addressing community problems, not only persons in need, especially in rural area. A very important manifested case was Nan-Juang Presbyterian Church in terms of community participation and partnership relationship. There were three objectives in the present research: (1) to describe the one-way community ministry of Nan-Juang Presbyterian Church; (2) to explore the transformation of community ministry of Nan-Juang Presbyterian Church; (3) to study the partnership relationship between Nan-Juang Presbyterian Church and a specific civic organization in Nan-Juang. We find that the period of one-way community ministry of Nan-Juang Presbyterian Church was not a long time, but a probationary period to contact with local community, especially some community parents. The collaboration between Nan-Juang Presbyterian Church and community parents implied an outset of community ministry transformation, i.e. a role-playing change from service provider to partnership. Then this partnership experience further became a basis to build partnership relationship between two front-line (level one) community organizations. This kind of partnership relationship had brought about some mutual beneficial outcomes with regard to community development and organization sustainability.
