The greenery index is one of the ecological indices of Green buildings and the basic item for Green environmental assessment, which can have a direct impact on the quality of modern lives. Focusing on if the greenery meets the standard may contribute to the environmental sustainability. However, from a micro perspective, it is not compatible with the purpose of creating healthy environment for users. This study used the greenery index to evaluate the environmental impact of buildings within Chung Yuan Christian University campus. We covered the following issues: 1. conformity to the green index standard; 2. the distribution of plants throughout the campus; 3. plant distribution related to campus users. The main purpose of this study was to determine how the distribution of plants affected campus users and TCO2, by evaluating the green index regarding the main campus of Chung Yuan Christian University. The methods used in this study were examining accessible regulations, field study and records, and historical references.
