In recent years, some researchers put a lot of efforts on pedestrian comfort in the environmental wind field. So, there are amount of research and assessment articles have been presented. They offered various improvements and different comfort criteria on this issue. The urban configurations and surroundings are changeable. Building’s height is changing and their surroundings are changed as well. These conditions caused the microclimate to be changed in the neighbor area. This research is aimed at large green area which is near a super high rise building to discuss the wind field on pedestrian level. The effects may cause different comfort to the people in the area. For there are not enough studies and discussions to be processed yet, therefore, this issue is worth to study for the people. This research takes Citizen Plaza which near a 175m height Shr-Hwa International Tower as an example to study. The researchers use proper instruments to measure the wind speed in the field. Converting the Central Meteorological Bureau weather report data with the atmospheric boundary layer theory, we can have the pedestrian wind speed. Comparing these measured values and covering data in order to have reasonable numerical values as for wind tunnel experiment wind speed bases. All the passive devices are prepared according to the atmospheric boundary layer theory to fit the similarity law in order to do the experiment. The researcher take major wind direction in whole year in this city to measure the environment wind filed to have wind speed at pedestrian level. The purposes of this research are to have a field measured wind speed as the seasonal data for base. Using the wind tunnel experiment to have other seasonal simulation data, we take these data to compare with the standard of pedestrian comfort in order to have suitable assessment and analysis of the pedestrian comfort in this large green area. The results can be used as references for outdoor planning and design.
