Periocular Eyelid Basal Cell Carcinoma Successfully Managed by Glabellar Rotational Flap Reconstruction: A Case Report

摘要

An 89-year-old woman presented at our hospital with a firm, slow-growing mass on the left upper eyelid that had been present for one year. A black-colored nodule with an irregular surface was located at the medial upper eyelid and the medial canthus, measuring 1.7 cm in length and 2 cm in width. The nodule was surgically excised with a 3-mm margin, and pathologic examination identified nodular basal cell carcinoma (BCC) with clear margins. We used a glabellar rotational flap for reconstruction. During follow-up, there were no complications, and cosmesis was preserved. Surgical excision and a glabellar rotational flap proved an effective treatment strategy in our patient.
