本研究目的為評估柳杉(Cryptomeria japonica)材部、葉子、樹皮與枝條精油的抗細菌活性,同時亦分離與鑑定精油中之抗細菌活性成分。利用水蒸餾法萃取柳杉各 部位精油,精油收率以葉部最高。比較各部位精油的抗細菌活性得知,以材部精油的活 性較佳。進一步分離材部精油中的活性分離部,得到epi-Cubebol、Cubebol、β-Elemol、δ-Cadinol、α-Cadinol與Sandaracopimarol 等化合物。其中,以Cubebol、α-Cadinol與Sandaracopimarol的抗細菌活性較佳,可以有效抑制金黃色葡萄球菌(Staphylococcus aureus)、抗藥性金黃色葡萄球菌(Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus)與糞腸球菌(Enterococcus faecalis)。綜合上述結果可知柳杉材部精油及精油成分具有良好的抗細菌活性。
We evaluated the antibacterial activities of essential oils from Cryptomeria japonica wood, leaves, bark and twig, and to identify the antibacterial compounds from those oils. Essential oils were prepared by water distillation, and the highest oil yield was obtained from leaves. Among these oils, wood oil showed the strongest activity against bacteria tested. Six compounds, including epi-cubebol, cubebol, β-elemol, δ-cadinol, α-cadinol and sandaracopimarol, were isolated from the active fractions of wood oil. Cubebol, α-cadinol and sandaracopimarol exhibited inhibitory effects against Staphylococcus aureus, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis. Results obtained demonstrated that wood oil of C. japonica and its constituents possess the superior antibacterial activities.
