玄奘的四川之行

Hsuan Chuang's Pilgrim Sichuan

摘要


四川是玄奘参學佛法、受具足戒、展露頭角的地方,也可說玄奘在四川時期的參學及受戒,開啟了日後西行求法、研究法相唯識之學的契機,奠定了一生事業的基礎。本文主要敘述玄奘從武德初年,從長安經漢川到成都的經過,以及駐錫四川期間的的依止。由於受限於資料,歷來學者對段史實,大都一筆帶過,本文雖不長,但可彌補玄奘研究之不足。

Sichuan is the place where Hsuan Chuang (Xuna Zang) did the research and studied Buddhist doctrine, received the full ordination, and made himself stand out conspicuously, which would later inspire him to make up his mind to pilgrim to the west and gain a reputation for studying Faxiang, or Dharmalaksana, Sect. It's also the place where Hsuan Chuang established the groundwork of his lifelong career.This article mainly narrates the progression of Hsuan Chuang's pilgrim from Changan through Hanchuan to Chengdu in Wu De first year as well as his stay and his mentors in Sichuan. Limited by the lack of data, historians tend to downplay the historical facts. Although this article is not quite long, it still supplements the shortage of research.
