Impact of Accreditation on the Quality of Academic Programs of Central Mindanao University: Future Directions and Challenges

Accreditation is perceived to be very important in the pursuit of excellence and is an important consideration as it helps in providing the continuous updates of information to all stakeholders. Central Mindanao University highly practiced in practically all the identified practices in preparation for the accreditation visits. Faculty members have positive attitude on accreditation. It is also believed that accreditation had high impact on school factors and that accreditation visits were managed well by responsible authorities. The most common problems encountered during the AACCUP accreditation were perceived as serious were preparation of the documents and administrative support and facilities. It is believed that academic programs of Central Mindanao University are generally good. The best practices in the preparation of AACCUP accreditation, attitude towards accreditation, impact on school factors, and management of accreditation visit were the variables related with program quality. The best predictors for quality program were found to be the best practices in the preparation of AACCUP accreditation, school factors, and position/designation of respondents.
