國內的通識教育施行成效不彰是不容諱言的事實,本文主要先就目前通行的藝術通識課程的設計進行分析,再由各項課程所意圖達到成效,來考慮其中可能產生的問題,進而指出現行藝術通識課程的弊端所在。 目前國內各校所施行的藝術通識課程,可分成四個類型:(一)欣賞型課程,(二)藝術史類型課程,(三)藝術概論型課程,(四)「藝術與人生」類型課程。各種類型的內容、設計都有差異,所欲達到的目標也不相同。而目前施行的問題徵結則在於,授課者經常混淆了各類課程設計之本質,因而造成授課成效不彰。其間伴生的問題則如:學生的思辨訓練未受到充分的重視、授課時間無法配合等。此外,在師資的搭配上也嫌不當。就此而言,規劃者若能針對各類課程,作更有意識而積極的選擇,或能突破困境,得到一定效度的突破。
It is an undeniablc fact that our general education has not achieved any remarkable success. This paper first puts forth an analysis of the current planning of general courses on art. Secondly, this paper takes into consideration the results that each of these courses intend to achieve, and discusses possible problems that may arise in the process. Finally, the author points out the fundamental shoricomings of currcnt teaching practices. There are four different types of general courses on art currently taught at various national educational institutions, namely: 1. art appreciation; 2. art history; 3. introductory courses to art; and 4. courses on ”art and life” These types of art courses differ both in their content, their layout, as well as in their objectives. The crucial problem of current practice is that teachers do not sufficiently distinguish between the mutually differing nature of the art courses they teach. Subsequently, their courses do therefore not obtain effective results. Other related deficiencies of the current system are, amongst others, insufficient attention for the traininng of the student's analytical abilities, as well as too limited teaching hours. An inadequate matchinng of teachers to courses taught may be mentioned as yet another cause for failure. If the educators responsible for planning would make more informed and active choices as to the nature of courses to be taught, current difficulties can be overcome, and, unto a certain degree, results will be attained.
