Returning and maintain the roots of the local culture has become the trend of regional development, under the impact of dominant Western culture. Hence, it has become an important issue to recreate the Siraya traditional culture. The research theme is "The Daughter of Siraya" performed by Lin-Long Dance Group. The data from the literature, field work and interviews were conducted to explore the origin of the Siraya and religion, the ritual of the "Yeji", the application of the Siraya cultural and dancing creation and the reflection of "The Daughter of Siraya". Main conclusions are as follows: first, the Siraya whose tribes were mainly in Tainan is one of the Taiwanese Plains Aborigins. They have a matriarchal society. They believe in "Arit," and they are called "people who worship the pots." Secondly, the "YeJi" is derived from the early hunting culture, and it is to show the gratitude to the "Arit." The date of "Yeji" depends on the birthday of "Arit." The rituals are held by the "Anyi," and the content of the rituals mostly involves the sacrifice of pigs and chanting and singing but varies from tribe to tribe. Thirdly, the dance performance "the Daughter of Siraya" traces back to the roots and maintains the traditional culture of the minority by recreating the "Yeji" and presenting the life of a Siraya daughter. The land, rite and traditional clothes are the key features. Finally, it is challenging to acquire Siraya-related stage properties and to manage the schedule of rehearsals, even though the performance has received loud applause. The producer hopes to gain more resources and help from the Siraya as well as experts from culture and history fields in order to have a better present, perform abroad, and get the support from the audiences.
