The purpose of this study was to investigate the properties of the four-plied laminated wood with different kinds and locations of end-to-end grain joint made from Taiwan acacia. Formosan sweet gum and Taiwania with UF adhesive. The property of butt joint laminated wood was the worst, but increasing the distance of butt joint between each lamina could slightly improve it. When use a full-length lamina as bottom lamina of butt joint laminated wood, the strength could be obviously raised as to the strength of laminated wood made from four full-length laminas. The strength of scarf joint laminated wood was better as increasing the 1/h ratio and joint distance between each lamina and also the higher of these two values needed to be in the higher specific gravity of the wood. The strength of finger joint laminated wood was slightly lower than scarf joint laminated wood with 1/h ratio 8.0. Increase the distance of joint between each lamina or use the full-length lamina the bottom lamina of laminated wood could also improved the strength of finger joint laminated wood.
