層竹家具之製造

The Manufacturing of Lamboo Furniture

摘要


為革新竹材之加工方法,提高竹材之利用價值,林試所特就省產孟宗竹與麻竹進行系列研究。期能將圓竹製成竹片,經碳化、防腐、或染色處理後,再層積膠合為“層竹”(Lamboo),供製作高級家具原科之用。所得重要結果如下:(1)孟宗竹與麻竹均可製成竹片,經碳化、防腐、或染色處理後,層積膠合為直線型或曲線型層竹:(2)碳化處理,對竹材之強度具有誠弱之影響。染色處理對膠合與強度均無影響:(3)Na-PCP之防腐效果較Tanalith-C為佳。但製成層竹後,其強度性質與膠合剪力均較後者為屬;(4)竹片彎曲時,其厚度與曲率半徑成正相關;(5)“孟宗層竹”之強度較“麻層竹”為高,故製造層竹家具時以採用孟宗竹為妥。

Bamboo is a important and potential forest resource in Taiwan. The conventional uses of bamboo such as fence, implement, container, and bamboo ware, however, are mostly low-priced items. In order to develop an innovative processing system which can markedly increase the value in utilization of bamboo, the Taiwan Forestry Research Institute had engaged in a serial studies on Moso bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis) and Ma bamboo (Sinocalamus latiforus), trying to use them as a stock for quality furniture making. In the work conducted, maximum recovery of bamboo piece, effect of preservation, and dyeing treatment, curvature of bamboo piece, optimum curing condition of the glueline, laminated bending, mechanical and finishing properties, and the technology of manufacturing lamboo furniture were emphasized. The results are given here. 1. The proper cutting width for obtaining a maximum recovery of bamboo piece from 8cm and up end diameter bamboo culm is 2.5cm. 2. Both Moso bamboo and Ma bamboo can be cut into pieces and parallel laminated to a required dimension call Lamboo; and using it as a stock for furniture making. 3. The strength of bamboo will be reduced after carbonizing (steaming) treatment (Table 1). 4. Both Moso bamboo and Ma bamboo can be successfully dyed with 80℃ acid dye solutions under a pressure of 10~15 kg/cm^2; and there is no influence on mechanical properties and bond strength (Table 2). 5. The preservative efficiency of Na-PCP is much better than Tanalith-C; however, the mechanical properties and bond strength of Na-PCP treated Lamboo are lower than those of Tanalith-C treated and untreated Lamboo (Table 3). 6. The glueline can be well cured by a forced-circulation heating system at 80°~100℃ for about 30~90 min. 7. The thickness of bamboo pieces for bending is in a positive correlation to the radius of the curvature. The bending failure can be reduced by means of putting the skin zone to the convex the convex side. 8. The strength of Moso-Lamboo is higher than Ma-Lamboo (Table 2) mended to use Moso bamboo for manufacturing Lamboo furniture.
