液化杉木為基質酚甲醛樹脂製作合板及粒片板之性質

The Properties of Plywood and Particleboard Made with Liquefied Cunninghamia lanceolata-based Phenol-formaldehyde Resins

摘要


本研究將杉木木粉以酚為溶劑,HCl或H2_SO_4為催化劑進行液化處理,所得液化杉木再以不同甲醛/酚(F/P)及氫氧化鈉/酚(NaOH/P)莫耳比合成酚甲醛樹脂(Phenol-formaldehyde; PF),並將其應用於合板及粒片板製造,探討不同合成條件PF樹脂所製作木質板材之性質。由試驗結果顯示,液化時採用之酸催化劑種類及合成之製備條件均會影響PF樹脂之性質;以H_2SO_4為催化劑之液化杉木(C-S)為原料者,隨合成時間延長其樹脂液粘度增加,而以HCl為催化劑之液化杉木(C-H)為原料者則無明顯變化;合成時採用NaOH/P莫耳比較大者其粘度較低,膠化時間較長;F/P莫耳比較大者則其膠化時間較短;以液化杉木為基質之PF樹脂應用於合板及粒片板製造時,其中以C-H液化杉木為原料,並採用F/P莫耳比2.0,NaOH/P莫耳比0.4為合成條件之PF樹脂具有最佳之板材性質。

Wood of Cunninghamia lanceolata (China fir) was liquefied using phenol as the solvent with HCl or H_2SO_4 as the catalyst. The liquefied China fir was then reacted with formaldehyde under various molar ratios of formaldehyde to phenol (F/P) and sodium hydroxide to phenol (NaOH/P) to prepare phenol-formaldehyde resins (PF). The properties of plywood and particleboard made with these resins were investigated. The results show that kinds of catalyst used in wood liquefaction and conditions of resin synthesis were both influenced the properties of PF resin. Resins those prepared from China fir that liquefied with H_2SO_4 as the catalyst (C-S) had the viscosity increasing with the synthesis time; however, the variation was not obvious for those with HCl as the catalyst (C-H). The resins had lower viscosity and longer gel time for which prepared with higher NaOH/P molar ratio, but had shorter gel time for that with higher F/P molar ratios. When using the liquefied China fir-based PF resins for the manufacturing of plywood and particleboard, PF resin that prepared from liquefied China fir of C-H with the F/P molar ratio of 2.0 and NaOH/P molar ratio of 0.4 had the best properties.
