100 samples of six braads of bottled mineral water collected from different districts of Taiwan were examined for appearance, artificial sweetness, coloraats, preservatives, pH, chlorine residue, total viable counts and coliform bacteria. The results, showed that artificial sweetness, coloraats, preservatives, residued chlorine and coliform bacteria were non-detectable, pH values ranged between 7.08 and 8.31. 94% of samples did not meet hygienic standard which must be below 200 counts/ml.
