200 samples of beehoney were purchased from bee keep houses and markets all over Taiwan Area, and the preservatives were tested by thin layer chromatography and gas chromatography. The results showed that 2 of the 200 samples were found to have preservatives, namely butyl p. hydroxybenzoate and benzoic acid, and the concentration of the two preservatives were 0.044g/Kg and 0.114g/Kg, respectively.
