Taiwan has gradually become an aged society. With increasing attention paid onto designing and manufacturing user-friendly products and facilities, specific needs of the elderly in the usage are also taken into account. This study aims to explore the application of domestic thinned wood to design and manufacture of wooden recreation facilities for the elderly health. In collaboration with the National Formosa University, we designed four products, namely "Stretch chair", "Rocking chair", "Relief chair", and "Planting table for horticultural therapy" to promote health and recreation, and will be manufactured. Results of this study will serve as useful reference for further development of elderly health and wooden recreation products for both indoor and outdoor using.
