The research uses nephrite from Fengtien and serpentine from Wanrong of Hualian County as soil materials, and sulfuric acid to conduct a hydrothermal experiment simulating the chemical process involved in whitened serpentine and tremolite. The purpose is to examine the chemical reactions that occur when these materials are exposed to sulfuric acid. The results show that the higher the temperature, the more ions of Si, Ma and Ca the nephrite and serpentine lose through hydrothermal alteration.
