Effect of the Arrangement of Water Mist Nozzles on Motorcycle Fire Extinguishment

細水霧噴頭安排對機車滅火之影響實驗

摘要


本研究以全尺寸實驗模擬以細水霧防護停放在騎樓下的機車火災,嘗試於騎樓頂、地面、高低組合變化等三種不同噴頭位置的安排,觀察它們的防護效果。結果發現,三種配置都能有效降低熱釋放率、降溫以及降低火焰高度。其中一組實驗可以滅火,顯示細水霧有效而且噴頭的配置位置對於滅火效果深具影響。

This study conducted a full-scale motorcycle fire experiment in a non-enclosed space with water mist nozzles variously located on the ceiling, at a height of 1.5 m, and on the ground, and observed the effect of nozzle arrangement on flame height and heat release rate. The results showed that the three nozzle arrangements all were able to reduce heat release rate and could effectively reduce the temperature and height of flames. One of them could extinguish the motorcycle fire. This indicated that water mist can work and the nozzle arrangement has a decisive influence on the performance of water mist systems.
