The Previous SARS prevalence was a different type of disaster or casualty, because the process of fighting against SARS was an unforgettable and threatening experience for individuals and Taiwan society. It also challenged the hospitals ability to respond to disasters. We can not predict when a disaster will happen, but being prepared for the disaster by having a response plan can be to our advantage. The content of this article holistically introduces not only the SARS related topics which include; disaster plan management, strategy, PTDS, CISM (Critical Incidents Stress Management) skills, but also points out some areas of improvement for future. The healthcare environment will certainly continue to be dynamic and unpredictable. However, this collected experience may provide some ideas and benefit for hospital managers and Taiwan as a whole.
