淡色薊馬(Thrips flavus Schrank)爲害瓜類調查及其防治試驗

Field Studies on Cucurbit Thrip (Thrips flavus) and Its Control

摘要


淡色薊馬Thrips flavus Schrank近年來於本省普遍爲害瓜類,其成蟲、幼蟲潛於嫩心或花器內,可致心芽萎縮,頂端生長停止,葉片黃化,植株發育不良;同時可致花器萎凋,影響結果,或造成果面產生粗疤,降低品質。各種瓜類受害程度依序爲冬瓜、節瓜、西瓜、胡瓜、南瓜、香瓜、苦瓜、絲瓜、扁蒲。 本蟲全年發生,其棲羣週年消長受降雨量影響最大,尤以7~8月降雨量最多,其密度大減,而於10月至次年3月間,因氣候乾燥,其密度增加。 以九種殺蟲劑進行防治比較試驗,經田間兩個試區試驗結果,以Decis及Furadan等二種殺蟲劑防治效果最佳。

Thrips flavus was reported attacking cucurbits in Taiwan by R. Takahashi in 1935. It became severely injurious to cucurbits in the recent years. Adults and larvae of this thrip hidden in the shoots as well as flowers sucked plant sap and caused stunt shoots and retarted terminals. When plants were attacked by this thrips usually resulted in yellowish leaves, wilted flowers and scarred fruits. The quality of fruits was greatly reduced by its heavy infestation. The degrees of cucurbits damaged by this thrip orderly as follow are wax gourd, nodose wax gourd, watermelon, cucumber, pumpkin, vegetable sponge, muskmelon, balsam pear, calabash gourd. This thrip occurred all year round in southern Taiwan. Its population increased during dry season (Oct. -Dec. & Jan. -Mar. ) and decreased during wet season (Jul. -Aug. ). It was obviously affected by precipitation. Nine insecticides were tested for the control of this thrip. Two experimental fields located in Taliao and Niaosung, Kaohsiung hsien, respectively. Six seedlings of watermelon were planted in one plot with 4 replications and complete randomized design. Four applications were done totally at a 7-day interval. On the 7th day after last application, 10 shoots were randomly taken from each plot and all the thrips remained are counted. Results indicated that Decis and Furadan showed the most effective in checking the thrips in two experimental fields.
