青割玉米單雜交種臺農三號之育成

新育成青割玉米品種台農3號為單雜交種，由自交系SW646及UH13雜交而成。母本SW646自泰國Kasetsart農業大學引進，係抗露菌病種原Suwan-1DMR經自交分離至S5所育成之自交系，屬硬粒種，抗普通型銹病、葉斑病、煤紋病、毒素病及露菌病，莖葉茂盛，具高產潛力；父本UH13係由美國夏威夷大學引進之自交系77-4544經純化選出者，屬馬齒種，一般組合力高，抗普通型銹病、葉斑病、莖腐病、煤紋病、毒素病及露菌病，且具抗倒伏之特性。臺農3號之青割鮮草產量可達49噸／公頃，綜合兩年區域試驗之總平均產量較對照品種臺農351號增加23.4%，較臺農1號高出16.7%。本品種之莖稈粗壯，株型高大，穗位與臺農1號高度相近，抗倒伏性強，開花期及吐絲期之問隔為2~3天左右，果穗為1-2穗，鮮草產量高。開花期與成熟期隨溫度高低之變化甚大，播種至吐絲期，春作約66天，秋作約60天。生育日數，春作三月初播種至籽粒生理成熟期約96天，秋作八月底播種者約105天，屬中晚熟品種。本品種對露菌病具有高度抗性，普通型銹病、葉斑病、煤紋病、莖腐病及矮化嵌紋毒素病為中抗；不抗南方型鍋病；抗亞洲玉米螟。

Tainung No.3 is a single-cross forage maize hybrid. Its parental inbreds are SW646 and UH13. The female parent SW646 is a flint selected from the inbreeding progenies of Suwan-1 DMR introduced from Thailand Kasetsart University. The SW646 is resistant to commom rust, southern corn and northern corn leaf blight, downy mildew and MDMV-B when it was screened under growth chamber conditions. The male parent UH13 is an U.S dent selected from the purified lines of 77-4544, which was introduced from Hawaii University. The UH13 has high general combining ability (GCA) and is resistant to common rust, southern corn and northern corn leaf blights, stem rot, downy mildew and MDMV-B. The Tainung No.3 possesses 49 ton/ha forage yield potential when harvested from dough to physiological maturity stages. Its yield is higher than TNG35 1 by 23.4% and TNG1 by 16.7% in two years average. The days from planting to tasseling are 66 and 60 days in spring and fall crop seasons, respectively. The days from planting to maturity are 96 and 105 days, in spring and fall crops respectively. Tainung No.3 is resistant to Puccinia sorghi (common rust), Exserohilum turcicum (northern corn leaf blight), Bipolaris maydis (southern corn leaf blight), Pythium aphanidermatum (stem rots), Sclerospora sacchari (downy mildew), MDMV-B and Asia borer; but not immune from Puccinia polysora (southern rust).
