摘要

The catch fluctuation of oceanic bonito(Euthynnus affinis)in relation to oceanicand meteorological factors was studied at the Mang-Fong set-net fishing ground inthe Jwu-Keng coast on southwestern Taiwan,on the basis of its catch statistics,oceanicconditions,satellite temperature mapping and meteorological information for 1991 to 1994.The oceanic bonito were caught throughout the year.The main fishing period was betweenOctober and April,with the poorest catch in the coldest months.In the last decade,thecatch of oceanic bonito decreased year after year.In winter,when warm water tongue flewthrough the position of the set net,the catch would increase greatly.Both good oceanicand weather conditions(air temperature＞19℃ and wind speed＜5 m/sec)were requiredfor a good catch of oceanic bonito.
