Palaemon serrifer is a small shrimp and belonging to family Palaemonidae. The species distributes in west India, Burma, Java, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan. The habitats of P. serrifer are reef coasts, rocky coasts and breakwater regions, sometimes can be found in aquaculture ponds. In this experiment, adult shrimps were obtained from aquaculture pond of National Penghu Institute of Technology. Under the temperature of 25-2T℃, salinity 33-35‰, larvae of P. serrifer went through five zoeal stages and metamorphosed into the postlarval stage in the 14th day after hatching.
