公豬飼糧添加硒對改善熱季精液品質之效果評估

Evaluating the Effect of Dietary Supplementation of Selenium on the Semen Quality of Boar During the Hot Season

本研究旨在評估熱季時,公豬飼糧中添加硒,其改善公豬精液品質之效果。試驗共採用平均12月齡畜試黑豬一號(75%杜洛克與25%桃園豬血統)公豬27頭,依採精順序先後,逢機分置於三種飼糧處理組,每組9頭。對照組公豬餵飼含粗蛋白質15%、消化能3,250 kcal/kg的基礎飼糧,另二個試驗組則分別於對照組飼糧中額外添加硒0.3 ppm及硒0.6 ppm,每頭公豬日餵2㎏飼糧。公豬以假母台訓練採精,於5-10月份每隔7日採精一次,檢查包括精液量、精液pH值、精子濃度、每次採精總精子數、畸形精子率、精子活力等精液性狀。結果顯示,熱季時公豬以添加0.3 ppm硒之飼糧餵飼,其精子濃度及每次採精之平均總精子數高於對照組,尤以七月中旬至試驗結束日止(10月23日)之試驗期間為然,而各組之精液pH值及膠體重未有顯著之差異,而精子活力百分率及平均畸形精子率,則以飼糧中添加硒之公豬有較高及減低之趨勢。

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the improvement on the semen quality of boars fed selenium during the hot season. Twenty-seven TLRI Black pig No.1 (75%Duroc and 25%Taoyuan pig) boars, averaging 12 months of age, were allocated into three groups with nine boars in each group. The boars in the control group were provided the corn-soybean meal basal diet formulated to contain crude protein 15% and digestible energy 3,250 kcal/kg. The boars in the other two experimental groups were fed the basal diet and additionally supplemented with 0.3 ppm Se or 0.6 ppm Se. Boars were trained to mount the artificial dummy for semen collection every 7d from May to October. The semen characteristics including semen volume, semen pH, sperm concentration, total sperm, sperm motility and percentage of abnormal sperm were measured. The results showed that boars fed the diet supplemented with 0.3 ppm Se produced higher sperm concentration and total sperms per ejaculate than the control group, especially during the period from mid-July to the end of October when the ambient temperature was elevated. There were no differences among treatments in terms of semen pH and gel weight. Nevertheless, the sperm motility and percentage of abnormal sperm tend to be higher or lower for those boars fed diets supplemented with selenium.
