新世代圖書館技術服務淺探

摘要


圖書館技術服務通常被認為是圖書館得以運作、發揮功能的所有幕後職責或服務,涉及館藏的徵集、描述、處理與維護以供利用,與讀者無直接的接觸。在新世代資訊傳播及網路科技快速發展的環境下,無論在組織、人員及作業流程等各方面,圖書館技術服務確實產生許多重大的改變。為了深入瞭解圖書館技術服務的涵義、演變及新世代可能發展的趨勢,筆者試蒐集國內外相關文獻,擬尋找新世代環境下先進圖書館在技術服務方面的因應之道,或可供國人借鏡。

Library technical services are generally considered to be the operations working behind the library scenes, with duties or services involving collection acquisition, description, processing and maintenance for use, and no direct contact with readers. With rapid development of information and network technologies, in transition to the next generation, library technical services do have many significant changes in all aspects of the organization, personnel and processes. In order to understand the specific meaning, evolution and the development trends of library technical services, the author tries to examine relevant literature for learning from the past, and related experiences or available for people to learn from.
