A 60-year-old woman was admitted to our gastroenterology section with upper gastrointestinal bleeding. A series of examination including UGI X-ray, endoscopy were done. Under the impression of gastric tumor, subtotal gastrectomy was performed. Histological examination revealed a submucosal tumor with superficial ulceration, characterized by a proliferation of round and polygonal cells with vacuolized cytoplasm and low mitotic count. The final diagnosis was leiomyoblastoma of the stomach. Since 1960, only about 250 cases of leiomyoblastoma of the stomach have been reported. Here we present the first case of gastric leiomyoblastoma in our hospital, and the literatures are reviewed.
