From Nov. 1984 to Feb. 1986, there were seventeen muscle flaps that used for coverage of leg defect in fifteen patients. Most of the patients were caused by trauma except three cases. The etiology of these three cases were as following: burn, chronic, ulcer and chronic osteomyelitis. Usually there transposed muscles were covered with mesh STSG. We had used fifteen flaps and these muscle group consisten of six Soleus, one Soleus and anterior tibialis, one Soleus and short Peroneus, Two short Peroneus, two Extensor digitorum brevis, one Extensor hallucis longus and two anterior tibialis. There were twelve cases with at least one year follow-up were not complete. The result of operation we found two cases need skin regrafting one case got tenseness of leg, one case felt fatigue while walking and one case still had continuous fistula. Finally only one the patient with continuous fistula, caused by chronic osteomyelitis for 33 years, had complication till now. Other cases were adequate to achieve the intended curative result.
