Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma of the liver is a rare primary hepatic malignancy of vascular origin. We report a 46-year-old female patient with the initial presentation of right upper quadrant pain for six months. A series of imaging studies, including abdominal sonography, computed tomography and celiac angiography showed multiple tumor masses in both lobes of liver Microscopically, the biopsied specimen was positively immunostained with Ulex Europaeus I lectin (UEAI), which was characteristics for epithelioid hemangioendothelioma. Surgical resection and transcatheter arterial embolization were not suitable for this patient because of the nature of multicentric involvement in liver and low vascularity of the tumor Patient died of massive esophageal varices bleeding one year after the diagnosis while waiting for liver transplantation. Literature regarding this rare disease were reviewed in this report.
