In recent years, construction projects still face schedule delays in Taiwan although a master specification "01103 progress management" has been promulgated for many years. Notably, the 01103 master specification was included into limited construction projects, and the regulations related to schedule management are scattered in different contract documents. For overcoming the ineffective problem of schedule management specification in Taiwan, to analyze schedule management problems systematically and then to propose an improved specification are necessary. Based on reviewing the practice of schedule management, and comprehensively exploring the problems of schedule management in available model contracts, regulations and documents, this study proposes a new schedule management specification. The proposed schedule management specification is verified by scheduling experts in Taiwan. It is anticipated that the outcome of this study is beneficial to the entity that wants to improve schedule management performance by incorporating schedule management specification.
