儒家價值論述及其當代意涵:市場經濟全球化脈絡下的分析

On Confucian Value Discourses and Their Contemporary Significances-An Analysis Based on the Context of Market Economy Globalization

摘要


本文旨在探討儒家價值論述及其當代意涵,並將其置於市場經濟全球化脈絡下來分析。首先分析外在動機導向的市場經濟邏輯,並以實證經驗資料例證市場經濟中「誘因排擠效應」之存在。在此基礎上,本文隨即針對市場經濟種種預設的瑕疵,以及誘因排擠效應對個人與社會所潛藏的種種貽害,加以分析批判。其次,探析具有內在動機導向的儒家相關價值論述,並歸納為「自我實現」、「公共責任」與「道德關懷」等三大主要內涵。接著,本文將進而分析這些儒家相關價值論述在當代市場經濟脈絡下的重要意涵。分析結果顯示,儒家價值論述因具有內在動機導向,對於市場經濟社會的動機失衡,可以發揮平衡作用。同時,儒家價值論述對於修補市場經濟種種弊害,能發揮正面價值。最後,在結語中本文強調內在動機的增強乃是社會的長遠價值,吾人應該加以重視。

This paper aims to delve into the Confucian value discourses and their contemporary significances in the context of globalizing market economy. First, it tries to explain the logic of market economy, which is extrinsic motivation oriented, and to illustrate the existence of "crowding out effect of incentive" in that logic by providing some empirical data. Based on these descriptions, this paper makes some critical analyses on the logics of market economy and "crowding out effect of incentive". Second, the authors depict the Confucian value discourses and divide them into three parts, namely, self-actualization discourse, public duty discourse, and moral concern discourse. Then, it situates the Confucian value discourses within the context of globalizing market economy and tries to illuminate their significances. This paper argues that, on the one hand, the Confucian value discourses, as a whole, could be used as a balancing tool to control the tilting situation of motivation system in globalizing market economy society; on the other hand, each part of the Confucian value discourses may produce positive impact on repairing the damages resulting from market economy. Finally, the authors make some concluding remarks.
