耳穴貼壓刺激對激烈運動前後心跳率影響之研究

Study on the Effects of Heart Rate Responses Induced by Pressure Applied to Ear Acupuncture Points during and after Exercise

摘要


The purpose of this study is to investigate how exercise-induced heart -rat responses are affected by pressure applying small objects (seeds, small steel balls etc) taped to ear acupoints. Twelve healthy male students served as subjects. Each subject performed 75% oxygen uptake volume maximal with or without granule-pressing on ear acupoints respectively. Both ears were pressed during 20th-25th and 5th-10th minutes before excercise, and 5th-10th after it. The T-test was applied for data analysis. The results showed that ear point pressure significantly decreased the resting heart rate, while no significant difference in responses were found during and after exercise. The rate of perceived exertion response indicated that exercise was performed with greater ease. It may therefore be concluded that ear point pressure enhances exercise performance due to its benefit to physiological responses to the enduring of oxygen consumption.
