Ever since ”Yun-qi” theory appeared in the text of Nei Jing, Wang Bing's edition, controversy persists concerning the time and origin of the theory. We analyze ”all the arguments and conclude that ”Yun-qi” theory probably took shape in the Dong Han Dynasty, so that Wang Bing was the person who incorporated it into Nei Jing.
