Gallstone ileus is a rare cause of intestinal obstruction. Because of nonspecific nature of clinical manifestations, preoperative diagnosis is frequently delayed, with resulting high rates of mortality and postoperative complications. The radiological characteristics of gallstone ileus are intestinal obstruction, air in the biliary tree and ectopic gallstone. Two cases of gallstone ileus are reported, with demonstration of their radiographic features.
