Primary lymphoma of the liver is a rare disease with a 0.1% chance of hepatic malignancy. Because clinical and radiological features for hepatic lymphoma are characteristically not easily detectable, fine needle or surgical biopsy is needed for definite diagnosis. Fine needle aspiration is commonly used to establish the pathological diagnosis of an intraabdominal mass. It has been found to be a safe and accurate procedure with a remarkably low complication rate. Although obtaining a pre-operative diagnosis in misway is a safe method, there is still a 0.003%-0.009% chance of complications from needle tract seeding. This case is the first of a rare incidence of primary hepatic lymphoma attributable to needle tract seeding.
