The media has two important roles in a democratic society. One is to serve as the fourth power to supervise the power mechanism; the other is to facilitate public discussion. In the 2016 presidential election of the Republic of China, Tsai Ing-wen of the Democratic Progressive Party was elected president, achieving three peaceful political party rotations, and the third political party rotation process in Taiwan. How to treat the media, the democratization process has further progressed, and then truly implemented. The principle of democracy and the establishment of a mature civic and political culture are issues that Taiwan needs to face seriously. This article examines the influence of Taiwan's media on political democratization from the role of the media, and uses literature analysis and focus groups to target major events. Analysis of media reports reveals that the evolution of the media is not proportional to the consolidation of democratization, and the influence of political party rotation on the media has gradually diminished, but the information explosion has also made the role of the media increasingly important.
