新睫狀肌麻痺劑:Mydrin-M,Mydrin-P和Mydriacyl之比較研究

A Comparative Study on Cycloplegics: Mydrin-M, Mydrin-P and Mydriacyl

並列摘要

In order to make a comparative study of cycloplegic effect of tropicamide in different concentrations, Mydrin-M, Mydrin-P and Mydriacyl., which are available in our commercial market are taken as samples. Each one of above preparations chiefly represents tropicamide solution in concentration of 0.4, 0.5 and 1.0 percentage respectively. Further-more, Mydrin-P contains 0.5 percent of phenylephrine hydrochloride. Forty-five eyes, without any remarkable external ocular diseases, are divided into three groups. The even of distribution of age and refractive condition, is considered. The age of the examinees are from thirteen to twenty- eight. The refractive condition of the above eyes are ten emmetropics and thirty-five myopics. Any one of the above preparations is instilled twice and each instillation at five minutes interval. After the second instillation, the residual accommodation and pupillary size are measured every five minutes for half an hour. The same examinations are performed one hour and six hours after the second instillation and on the morning of the following day. The conclusions, based on the results of the above experiment, are as follows: 1. The above commercial preparations of tropicamide, after twice instillations, are good enough for clinical examination of the refraction on the patient over age of thirteen, in their rapid onset and the maximum effect of cycloplegia. 2. Mydriacyl (Tropicamide one per cent) is more effective than the other two. The effecta ppears fifteen minutes after the second instillation. 3. At the thirtieth minute, the residual accommodations of Mydriacyl, Mydrin-M and Mydrin-P are 1.0 D, 1.52D and 1.6 D respectively. 4. The examination of refractive condition can be carried out about twenty-five minutes after second instillation of any one of the above preparations. 5. The mydriatic effect of Mydrin-P which contains phenylephrine hydrochloride is stronger than the other two. 6. A further investigation on the patient under age of thirteen and on both eyes, each using different concentration-solution at the same time, should be carried out in the near future.
