The use of sodium hyalronate in cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantation is often followed by a post-operative rise of intraocular pressure. Hyaluronidase was investigated to prevent the ocular hypertension caused by sodium hyaluronate. Our study included 12 eyes which received anterior chamber lens implantation with the use of sodium hyaluronate. Hyaluronidase (750 units) was instilled on the corneoscleral wound at the end of each operation of 6 eyes which the other 6 eyes received nothing as the control group. The result revealed that the hyaluronidase group had statistically significant lower IOP than the control group 24 hours after the operation.
