維生素C與前房液對結膜下纖維母細胞增殖所扮演的角色

The Role of Ascorbic Acid and Aqueous Humor on Subconjunctival Fibroblast Proliferation

正常人類之前房液中含有大量維生素C,其真正功能目前仍不清楚。我們利用體外細胞培養之技術,定量纖維母細胞吸收3H-thymidine之能力,證實較正常前房液濃度低之維生素C(0.55mmole/l)即具有破壞纖維母細胞之功能;而前房液則同時具有促進與抑制纖維母細胞生長之功能完全被抑制,前房液對纖維母細胞之影響,可能與其中之維生素C之含量多寡有密切關係存在。

Human aqueous humor has a mysterious effect on the proliferation of subconjunctival fibroblast. In addition to salt, amino acid, and protein, aqueous humor contains a very high concentratin of ascorbic acid. By measuring the 3H-thymidine uptake by subconjunctival fibroblast, we found that human aqueous humor could stimulate fibroblast proliferation at a concentration below 75%, and that some fibroblasts were lysed by 100% aqueous humor. Ascorbic acid also lysed cultured subconjunctival fibroblast significantly at a concentration above 0.55mmol/l (normal aqueous humor concentration of ascorbic acid is 1.1mmol/l). When 0.14mmol/l of ascorbic acid was added into aqueous humor, the growth stimulating effect of aqueous humor was totally blocked, and its inhibitory effect on fibroblast was enhanced significantly. These results imply that the influence of aqueous humor on subconjunctival fibroblast proliferation may be further modified by the concurrent concentratin of ascorbic acid.
