The Relation between Branch Retinal Vein Obstruction and Axial Length

Thirty-five patients with branch retinal vein obstruction (BRVO) were sampled for the study. The axial lengths of the eyes with BRVO were compared with those of the contralateral unaffected eyes and those of a control group. There was no significant difference on axial lengths between the eyes with BRVO and the contralateral unaffected eyes; and there was also no significant difference on axial lengths between the eyes with BRVO and the eyes of a control group. According to our observation in this study, there was no any significant data to prove that the eyes with BRVO was shorter than the eyes without BRVO, and also could not explain why hyperopia was more prevalent in patients with BRVO.
