摘要

本研究擬結合地理資訊系統（geographical information system, GIS）及傳統資料庫（traditional database），建立一個可以在警務人員從事刑案的偵查時，協助員警找出有地緣關係之前科犯的系統。假使使用者擬擴大地緣關係，系統亦可依要求一層層地向外擴張及顯示間接相鄰的地理單位及和這些地理單位有關的前科犯。點矩陣圖形數化成向量檔的程序亦將在文中討論。

In this research, we will integrate a Geographical Information System (GIS) with a traditional database to build a system that can help policemen to find out previously -recorded criminals who may be locally related to a criminal event. If users like to enlarge the ”local area”, the system can expand the range of the area by pasting the geographic units surrounding the ”local area”. Of course, previously-recorded criminals of the expanded area will be retrieved, too. An approach to digitize a BMP (bit map) graph into a vector graph will be also addressed in this article.
