摘要
地圖的生產是一項費用高昂，且耗時費力的工作，因此其設計則爲極重要之項目。由於其內容廣汛而複雜，要達到完善之設計殊屬不易；因此，在事先必須有良好之計畫。 本文即針對地圖生產時之整體規畫，來探討地圖設計之範疇與內涵，並對數值製圖之特性加以分析，使傳統地圖設計理念，能與數值地圖設計加以結合，達到經濟有效之地圖設計。

Map production is an expansive, time-and labor-consuming task, map design therefore be the predominent procedure within it. Due to its complexity and plentiful items of designing, it is difficult to reach the state of perfect design, accordingly the well-drawn plan is unavoidable. In this article, the discussing of extent of map design is the main purpose. Besides, numerical map is also regarded, in order to reconcile with traditional map design proceedures.
