報紙地圖選題類型之探討－以台灣聯合報為例

報紙地圖久為新聞媒體事件之重要輔助資料，可提供讀者較完善之空間位置與周遭環境資訊，協助讀者更快速而全面的了解整體新聞事件，故長久以來，普遍受到媒體之重視與使用。報紙為靜態之大眾傳播媒體，極適於地圖資料之配置應用。本文即在調查報紙地圖之特徵及其使用狀況，希了解媒體標題與地圖運用間之關聯，即何種新聞事件最常採用地圖來協助報導說明。本文採用聯合報2010年全年之報紙新聞為研究對象，經過統計分析，發現「交通」項新聞事件，是最常使用地圖的標題，占總新聞事件之25.0%。其他依序為：「社會災禍（18.9%）」、「軍事外交（10.4%）」、「人情趣味∕生活休閒（10.1%）」及「環保∕能源∕自然資源（8.2%）」等項。本文分析結果，有助於了解地圖選用與新聞事件間之關聯特性，其結果並可提供電子報未來應用發展之參考。

The newspapers are one of the main materials in the human history of national archives; they are always acting as information carriers in contemporary society. Newspapers are always thinking of journalistic maps as important auxiliary parts to depict the details of the news events, and using it to represent location information. The map information can help readers totally understand the content of the news event. Newspaper is one kind of static mass communication media, and is suitable for journalistic maps to represent the location and circumstance of news event. The aim of this paper is to investigate the situation of map use on the newspaper media, and to find the relationship between thematic focus of news headlines and map use by the surveys of journalistic maps. This paper has study the subject of United Daily News on 2010, and finding that the ”communication” item is the most frequently used and possesses 25.0% of map use according to the news headlines, then followed by ”social/disaster” item (18.9%), ”military/diplomatic” item (10.4%), ”human friendliness/leisure” item (10.1%), and ”environmental protection/energy/natural resources” item (8.2%). The results of this paper can help to understand the characteristics of journalistic maps use on newspaper, it also helpful for the design and use of maps on electronic newspaper publication.
