Vibrio vulnificus is a halophilic Vibro species which are widely distributed in marine environments. The main clinical features of V.vulnificus infection include primary sepsis and wound infection. The presentations of wound infection may be cellulitis, hemorrhagic bullae, vasculitis, necrotizing fasciitis and septic shock. Most patients die within 48 hours of hospitalization. We report a case of seawaterrelated wound infection which was complicated by rapidly developing septic shock. We wish to emphasize that early diagnosis and surgical intervention in addition to appropriate antimicrobial therapy are critical for such a life-threatening infection
