彰化師大商圈觀光夜市的在地性想像與真實

The Imagination and Reality of Locality toward Changhua City Night Market

摘要


本文旨在觀察當前在台灣以都市奇觀作為城市行銷策略的普遍現象,透過不同參與者之間對活動的參與,來探討地方性在這過程當中的轉變以及產生的影響。因此,本研究即以彰化市公所舉辦的「2011『古蹟彰化,舊城小吃大』觀光夜市活動」的系列活動之一:彰師大商圈觀光夜市作為研究主題,利用多元研究方法與主題分析來探討地方政府、攤商、在地商家與居民及觀光客等參與者在這次活動中的論述,企圖瞭解大量採用在地性塑造都市奇觀的台灣城市行銷,它與在地性之間的矛盾與對抗,以及過程中所帶來的正向價值。本研究發現,不同於過去都市奇觀的研究,彰師大商圈觀光夜市由上而下的辦理模式導致地方性的消逝,而在地居民商家與遊客對於在地性具有固著與均質的想像,但他們對在地性的重視是條件式的用以與地方政府抵抗。地方政府在這過程中備受在地反彈與城市競爭的雙重壓力,便以舉辦更多嘉年華式的活動彰顯治理的決心,而在地性則從強調本真性轉向符號價值的重新創造。這次活動也開啟了在地居民商家積極的公共參與。

In this paper we observe the widespread phenomena of urban spectacles in Taiwan through understanding respectively participants to explore the changing and effects of locality. Then this research studied in Chang-hua city night market which was an urban spectacle hold by Chang-hua city government. Multi-method was adapted to investigate the statements between local government, standing owners, local store owners and inhabitants to comprehend the conflicts and positive values between locality and urban spectacles. Different to present research, this paper discovers that the locality was faded through the top-down model of governances. However, for local inhabitants and store owner they possessed the stable and even imagination of locality, and it was conditioned when they were willing to resist the local government. Regarding to local government, it was in the condition both bearing the resistance of local people and the competition with other neighbor cities. Therefore, local government strived to hold various place fair instead to show the willpower. The locality was transform form authenticity to fiction during the process. The public participation of local inhabitants and store owners were evoked after the activity of night market.
