Urban traffic becomes more and more congested since the number of cars and motorcycles are growing rapidly. Concurrently, the frequency of traffic accidents rises. This study aims to develop various preventive strategies of traffic accidents to reduce the accident damage and death. This study will analyze the causes and characteristics of various traffic accidents thoroughly. Besides, field accident data are collected from Keelung City. The preventive strategies are evaluated and ranked by multiple attribute decision making methods based on these data. Effective strategies are suggested according to the findings.
