This article is a case report concerning a 35 y/o female patient who suffered from generalized chronic periodontitis. Clinical examination revealed generalized gingival inflammation with bleeding on probing and loss of attachments (probing depth > 5 mm). Radiographic examination showed multiple regions of intrabony defects and furcation involvement. The patient underwent non-surgical periodontal treatment (scaling and root planing), followed by surgical treatment involving the use of enamel matrix derivatives, freeze-dried bone allografts, and bioresorbable collagen membrane. At the one year follow up, 99% of her periodontal pockets were < 4 mm in depth, with a 3-4mm attachment gain at 7% of tooth sites. Radiographic examination showed bone re-fill at the surgical sites. After treatment, the patient maintained excellent oral hygiene and reported regularly for periodontal supportive care. Overall, there was an improvement in her periodontal health, which facilitated her prosthetic treatment and resulted in a good prognosis.
