The Formation of Linkage between Japan• Taiwan• Chain in the Auto Industry and the Inspection

In a precedent study (Lih-ren Li, 2005a, 2005b) by the author, the fact stated below became clear. ”Japan•Taiwan Chain hybrid production system” was built under the FDI of Taiwanese car makers in mainland China. This is a secondary transfer of the Japanese production system which mediated by Taiwanese firms, while it can be placed on an extension line of a conventional interaction with a Japanese firms. On the other hand, it has being observed that one ”parts supplement system” is formed by parts makers on this same extension line. This study performed further inspection, in order to completely grasp the phenomenon of this so-called ”Japan•Taiwan•Chain linkage”. Other than government publication data of the import and export and analysis about data of questionnaire survey, by making some case studies that Japan•Taiwan•Chain linkage was strong was demonstrated on trade side and in a technical aspect and production division of labor. In addition, in this frame, it became clear that the Japanese company promoted not only construction of competition predominance of Taiwan firms but also Chinese business development and technology transfer significantly.
