The current 1-9 Curriculum Framework empowers elementary and middle schools to develop a curriculum, and requests each to evaluate its own. Therefore, issues of school-based curriculum evaluation, following school-based curriculum development, are concerned and explored in academic and practical circles. This article analyzes conceptualization of school-based curriculum evaluation and different approaches to evaluate school curriculums, the status of research on school-based curriculum evaluation from 1998 to 2008 in Taiwan, and some suggestions dealing with issues of research for the future.
